Sperry footwear was first introduced in 1935 after founded Paul Sperry was watching his dog, a fun loving Cocker spaniel, run across the ice on a cold winter's day in his home town of Connecticut. He was amazed at the dogs amazing natural ability to maintain traction on such a slippery surface. After taking a closer look at the dogs paw he observed hundreds of tiny cracks and cuts going in all different directions. It was these wave like groves that inspired him to design his patent named Razor Siping. To date the brand continues to share it "Passion with the Sea" and is dedicated to making stylish, durable footwear that provides maximum comfort and protection to the wearer.
